This wine came as a recommendation from a friend of ours. INTERESTING! It has a STRONG nose, with aromas of vanilla, cedar, and tobacco. With the exception of some lingering heat, we found well balanced flavors of oak, tobacco, vanilla and earth. It displayed some really nice tannins, but it somewhat lacked the long finish we always look for.
We actually didn't realize the connection between the name of the wine until we read the label!! All of the smells and flavors we were experiencing were very reminiscent of a CIGAR BOX: Wood, Tobacco, Vanilla!! Very interesting. Pair this with grilled meats or even salmon!! Definitely give Cigar Box Malbec a try.
