We didn't get much on the nose in the glass with this Riesling. The aromas were there, but seemed too faint to make out. Although, the flavors were bursting with granny smith apples and a touch of honey! It is semi-dry with just the right amount of sweetness. Very nice balance of flavors and acidity. The finish is surprisingly long and creamy. We liked the fact that it was so smooth without being flat. This Riesling still has a crisp mouthfeel.
We thought this would pair very well with food, as well as a standalone wine. You can get this for about $14 and we think that's a great deal for a quality riesling! Another solid wine from the folks at Hunt Wines. We're finding that this winery is offering a strong line of quality wines at very affordable prices! Definitely check them out if you have the chance. They're one of those wineries you discover coming out of the woodwork that never fail to disappoint you. Great stuff!
